An Abu's Warning (1992) 50 min., silent, b/w & color, 16mm - A 20th century traveler comes to Japan and is confronted by a landscape, its inhabitants and cultural traditions quite different from his own experiences. Shot in the summer, 1987.
Afterthoughts on a Legend (2002) 10 min., silent, color & b/w, 16mm - A response to the inklings that resonate ten years after a trip to Iwate Prefecture, Japan.
The Film-Makers’ Cooperative (a.k.a. New American Cinema Group) is the largest archive and distributor of independent and avant-garde films in the world. Established in 1961 by a group of 22 path-breaking moving image artists (including Andy Warhol, Jonas Mekas, Shirley Clarke, and Stan Brakhage), the Coop has more than 5,000 films, videotapes, and DVDs in its collection.
