The largest archive and distributor of independent and avant-garde films in the world.
As an impromptu yet vital addendum to our series Films for Social Change: Revisited and Expanded, join us THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 26th, at 7pm at the Film-Makers' Cooperative for an encore screening of Richard Brick's 1971 documentary The Conspiracy and the Dybbuk, which will play alongside Newsreel's 1968 documentary Columbia Revolt. This film chronicles the 1968 Columbia University sit-in, and proves just as timely and urgent as ever considering the current Columbia sit-in calling for the university's divestment in war profiteering in Palestine. This screening is FREE to attend.
The Film-Makers’ Cooperative is the largest archive and distributor of independent and avant-garde films in the world. Created by artists in 1961 as the distribution branch of the New American Cinema Group, the Coop has more than 5,000 films, videotapes, and DVDs in its collection.
